Supporting your mentors
Effective mentoring is central to the success of your scheme. Those working towards CChem and CSci will need a mentor to help them meet the standards required. Use the resources below to help your mentors build their skills and keep them inspired.

I was invited to deliver STEM sessions for a group of girls in a pupil referral unit. They had become disengaged with science and wanted to work in the beauty industry after school, so I designed some sessions which focused on the science behind beauty.

There are lots of ways in which your employees can demonstrate the wider impact of their work and their commitment to the chemical sciences.
- Become a member volunteer – volunteers are integral to the work we do as an organisation, influencing and providing the foundations for the networks, outreach activities and support that we offer
- Join a science-related committee or interest group
- Get involved with their local member group
- Contribute to a chemical science publication by becoming a reviewer
- Attend an event or conference
- Accreditation scheme coordinators can apply to become an assessor for CChem, CSci, CEnv, RSci and RSciTech awards.
