Want to retain and attract the best talent? Transform your training programme with our accreditation.
Overview of accreditation Our accreditation success stories
In a rapidly-changing and unpredictable world, upskilling and developing your staff is essential. Giving your people opportunities to grow boosts employee engagement, productivity and staff retention. It also signals to others your status as an employer of choice.
With ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ accreditation, you can give your employees a recognised, mentor-supported route to achieving one of our professional awards that's aligned to your training and development goals.

What is employer accreditation?
With accreditation, you can offer your employees a route to professional recognition including:
- Chartered Chemist (CChem)
- Registered Chemist (RSci)
- Registered Science Technician (RSciTech)
We work with organisations of all sizes and in every chemistry-using sector. As well as providing a clear route to registered or chartered status for your people, our peer-reviewed accreditation gives you the confidence that your training is of a recognised high standard.
Your chemical science training can be accredited at many different levels. For example, you may have a graduate training scheme, an apprenticeship, or a development programme for new and established employees that you wish to have formally recognised.
Accreditation lasts for five years, after which we'll review your training and development practices for reaccreditation. It gives you the confidence that your training continues to meet the highest professional standards.
We’ve found that having an accredited scheme in place gives our more experienced chemists a fantastic opportunity to be involved with the development others. Not only is this hugely rewarding, but it also rekindles that excitement and interest around the more technical side of the job.

The accreditation process
Get in touch to find out how we can enhance your existing training, or help you create a new framework for your learning and development provision. We accredit employers of all sizes based in industry, and academic institutions.
Our dedicated professional standards specialist will talk you through the process and help you work out the best approach for your organisation.
We'll help you map your training and development to our professional awards. You'll also need to choose your scheme coordinator and sponsor before submitting your application. If you need help with drafting the application, we can do that too.
Our staff will arrange a site visit and, in advance, explain what you'll need for the assessment. Your peer assessor, a professionally active member of chemical sciences community, will also be there. Afterwards, we'll give you feedback from the assessment day. This may include any changes needed to progress to accreditation.
Submission deadline
Your accreditation is approved by our Admissions Committee. They meet four times a year, so make sure you submit your final documentation ahead of the submission deadline for that meeting.
Maintaining your accreditation
Your scheme is eligible for re-accreditation every five years. We'll contact you towards the end of the accreditation period to invite you to re-accredit.
