Matters handled in both criminal and civil litigation. Clients include lawyers, insurance companies, P & I clubs, loss adjusters, marine surveyors and companies or individuals facing a potential or actual loss.
Work undertaken includes analysis, on-site survey or reporting solely on the basis of documentation. Have experience in litigation in crown, high, county, small claims and magistrates courts and also at arbitration hearings. Reports prepared for and witness in coroner's court.
Endeavour to provide verbal advice and written reports in terms that the layman will be able to understand, avoiding technical jargon as far as possible. Regard maintenance of commercial awareness while addressing technical issues to be one of my most important skills.
Consultancy, testing and writing on topics including: chemistry; microbiology; pharmaceuticals; food and drink; food raw materials; animal feeds and pet diets; animal hides, skins and wool; wood, paper, board and charcoal; inorganic and organic chemicals, petroleum products and fire accelerants; fertilisers and soil-less growth media, including compost; minerals, ores, ceramics, clays and refractories; environmental monitoring, including microbiological, particles, dust, effluents and the effects of construction works on adjacent existing businesses; technical aspects of advertisements and advertising claims; insurance and legal claims, for example goods damaged (contamination or deterioration) during carriage by marine, road and air transport or while in storage, including fire, smoke and water damage; product liability claims; personal injury claims and environmental claims; alcohol in body fluids and breath.
