Biography
Satoshi Endo is a Chief Senior Researcher at National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Japan. He earned his PhD in Applied Geology from the University of Tübingen in Germany. Before joining NIES in 2019, he worked as a research scientist at UFZ - Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, Germany, and later as an Associate Professor at Osaka City University, Japan.
Dr Endo specializes in environmental organic chemistry. His research focuses on measuring, modeling, and predicting environmental fate properties of organic chemicals. His expertise also extends to environmental passive sampling, GC and LC analysis, and designing ecotoxicity tests. His recent interest has been in chemicals with properties that differ from traditional contaminants, such as per and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) and cationic surfactants.
