Biography

Pernilla Bohlin-Nizzetto is a Research Director at NILU, Kjeller, Norway. She has a PhD in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden (2010) and a post-doc in environmental chemistry from Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Her scientific interests are the discovery of an understanding of sources, fate, and distribution of new and regulated organic contaminants in outdoor and indoor environments on a local and global scale. She is the project leader of the Norwegian Monitoring Programme of long-range transported atmospheric contaminants (POPs and heavy metals), conducted on behalf of the Norwegian Environment Agency; coordinates monitoring of environmental organic contaminants at the Norwegian research station Trollhaugen in Antarctica, and is responsible for POPs in air and precipitation at EMEP/CCC. She also coordinates Working Group 6 (Emerging substances in the indoor environment) of the NORMAN Network.
