Hatice Mutlu
Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU)
Biography
Hatice Mutlu is a Full Professor (W3) of Technical Polymer 浪花直播 at the Rheinland-Pf盲lzische Technische Universit盲t Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) and Research Director of Polymer 浪花直播 at the Leibniz-Institut f眉r Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW). She obtained her doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Karlsruher Institut f眉r Technologie (KIT) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael A. R. Meier, after research stays at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer and the University of Potsdam.
After obtaining her doctoral degree, she worked as a research associate at KIT and from 2013鈥2014 as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Charles Sadron (CNRS) in Strasbourg with Dr. habil. Jean-Fran莽ois Lutz. From 2014 to 2017, she was a Senior Scientist in the group of Prof. Dr. Christopher Barner-Kowollik, followed by a Senior Scientist position with Prof. Dr. Patrick Th茅ato at KIT. From 2019 to 2022, she headed the Soft Matter Synthesis Laboratory (SML) and served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Biological Interfaces 3 (IBG-3).
In 2022, she accepted a Junior Professorship (Tenure Track) in Polymer 浪花直播 at the Universit茅 de Haute-Alsace (UHA) in Mulhouse, France, and in January 2023 received an appointment offer for an Associate Professorship in 浪花直播 of Circular Economy at the University of Helsinki, Finland. In 2024, she became the Spokesperson of the thematic axis 鈥淢ulti-Dimensional Materials and Interfaces鈥 at the Institut de Science des Mat茅riaux de Mulhouse (IS2M).
Hatice Mutlu has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, many as corresponding author. The impact of her work is reflected in the growing recognition of her research in sustainable polymer chemistry. She has received several awards, including the Dr. Hermann Schnell-Stipendium (GDCh, 2024) and the Junior Researcher Award of Macromolecular Rapid Communications (2023).
Her overall research aims to design new functional polymeric materials using sustainable polymerization strategies. Specifically, her investigations focus on green polymer synthesis, light-driven polymerization, and circular materials design toward a more sustainable future for macromolecular science.
