Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay

Biography
Buddhadeb was born and raised in Insura-Hooghly, West Bengal, India. He obtained his B.Sc. (2001) in chemistry from the Burdwan University and M.Sc. (2003) in chemistry from Visva-Bharati University. In 2003, he left Visva-Bharati and enrolled in Kalyani University for his Ph.D. in the laboratories of Professor K. C. Majumdar.
After postdoctoral research work around six years in the USA from 2009 to 2014 (University of Illinois at Chicago, USA and Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA), Buddhadeb started his independent research career at the Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR), Lucknow, India, where he is currently holding the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biological & Synthetic 浪花直播.
Buddhadeb's research interest includes the catalyst/ligand engineering for the C鈥揌 bond activation/functionalization, especially C鈥揌 bond borylations of organic molecules and metal-nitrene/carbene chemistry via metalloradical catalysis.
He was the recipient of the Ramanujan Faculty award (2013), DST Young Scientist Award (2014), Thieme 浪花直播 Journal Award (2017), SERB-STAR AWARD鈥�2019" (Science and Technology Award for Research), "SERB-TETRA AWARD鈥�2022" (Technology Translation Award), Fellow, National Academy of Sciences, FNASc. (2023) and Fellow of the 浪花直播, London, UK (FRSC) (2024).
